  1. Dear Ronda,

Just heard of Levi’s passing and I know I am not the only one to tell you how much we all thought of him. Even though I didn’t live there, when I was home to see the folks I often saw him at the postoffice and kept up with you and your family through the years. With sympathy, and my thoughts are with you.

  2. Dear Ronda, Terry, and Elwood,

I’m sending my heartfelt sympathy and condolences to you at the death of your husband, father, and brother–Levi. He was one of my favorite cousins. Levi’s friendly smile and the twinkle in his eyes are fond memories. His faith in God and Jesus Christ was strong and enduring. May God bless and keep Levi. May God bless you and your families, especially in this time of grief.

    Love,
    Mayme

We Love you, Larry Merrill (& Bernice)

  4. Dearest Ronda, You have lost a precious husband and I have lost a dear friend. There are a lot of fond memories of having you as customers for so many years at the restaurant. And, the political gatherings , especially the trip to Washington when Jamie Clarke was sworn in. What a lot of laughs we had! I know he’s at peace now. Maybe he’s found Gordon and Clinton up there. God Bless You always. I’ll Talk to you later. Much love, Juanita

  18. Levi always used to ‘aggravate’ me when I went in to the post office. That’s just the kind of person he was. A GREAT, fun loving man. We need more like him. My condolences go out to the family, but just remember, he is in a lot better place now. My daughter, Becky, was only a baby and doesn’t remember him, but she remembers me talking about what a good man he was when we ran in to him at the stores. And she does remember him being very nice to her. (and ‘aggravating’ her, too!)

  19. Dear Mrs. Hall:
I am sorry that I could not be at the funeral service for Levi, but my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. I really enjoyed knowing Levi. He was a good Christian and a good Democrat. Sincerely, Pete Wilson,President of the United Methodist Men of the Asheville District.

  20. I will never forget Levi. It feel like he is part of my family. I was blessed to grow up in Newfound Community and Grace Meth. church and to have known such a wonderful man. He was always so cheerful and had such a positive attitude and was always glad to see me – even when he was in the hospital. I’ll feel his spirit over that community and know that some day I’ll see my buddy again. With love to the family, Barbara Alexander.

  21. Ronda, I don’t know whether you will remember us or not. You & Levi were such a blessing to Garland & me & our family when our baby Sharon [Sherry] died. We are very sorry to hear of Levi’s death.
