Virginia Wilson Jones

Virginia Nina Wilson Jones, 79, of Asheville, passed away on Tuesday, June 7, 2016, at Care Partners Hospice. She was born in Yancey County to the late Huie and Bertha Murphy Wilson and was a member of Grassy Branch Baptist Church. Survivors include her husband of 60 years, J.B. Jones; sons, Tommy Jones of Sneedsville, TN, Randy Jones of Black Mountain and Donnie Jones of Asheville; 7 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren; brother, Raymond Wilson of Elberton, GA; three sisters, Jean Webb of Asheville, Georgia Dobbins of Greenville, SC and Ruth Sprouse of Taylorsville, SC. A funeral service will be held Friday at 1:00 p.m. at Grassy Branch Baptist Church. Rev. Ken Sausedo will officiate and burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Grassy Branch Baptist Church. Groce Funeral Home on Tunnel Road is assisting the family.
