Virginia Millard Banks, 67, of Asheville, died on Sunday, February 22, 2015, at her home. A native of Buncombe Co., Mrs. Banks was a daughter of the late Thomas and Virginia Ray Millard. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Lee Banks, Sr.; and sisters, Selina Dale Millard and Dianne Taylor. Mrs. Banks is survived by her sons, Jerry Lee Banks, Jr. and wife Ann, Paul Daniel Banks, and Joseph Millard Banks and wife Tracey, all of Asheville; brother, Tommy Millard and wife Pat; grandchildren, Brandi Banks and wife Tamara, Blake Daniel Banks, Jennifer Conner, Gary Scott, and Elizabeth King; and great-grandchildren, Jayden and Larissa Gentry. She was an amazing woman loved by everyone she met. She will be missed by many, but she is finally home with the love of her life, Jerry. A funeral service for Mrs. Banks will be at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday in the Patton Ave. chapel of Groce Funeral Home with the Rev. Jimmy Page officiating officiating. Interment will follow at Pisgah View Memorial Park. Her family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday evening at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the funeral home to assist with expenses.

  3. Dear Family, So sorry to learn of the loss of this precious girl. I have looked for her through the years. I was searching for ‘Sue’ She was such a good friend to me back…..way back, when we went to school together. What a sweet, wonderful person she was. My heart is broken for you, her family. Being the great friend to me that she was; I can only imagine the Mother, wife and Grandmother she must have been. May God be with each of you as you go through this most difficult time. My thoughts and prayers are certainly with you.
