Virginia Coffey Harmon, 83, of N. Leicester Highway, died Wednesday, December 19, 2012, at the John F. Keever Hospice Solace Center. A native of Buncombe Co., she was a daughter of the late Liston and Emma Mae Foster Coffey. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Shelby Harmon. Mrs. Harmon is survived by daughters Carolyn Harmon and Pat Harmon; sons Danny Harmon and wife Cindy, Don Harmon and wife Rhonda, Ricky Harmon, and Robert Harmon and wife Carol; 10 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday at Ashelawn Gardens, with the Rev. Charles Phillips officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to CarePartners Hospice, PO Box 25338, Asheville, NC 28813. Groce Funeral Home on Patton Ave. is assisting the family.

    I am so sorry to learn of Virginia’s passing, but rejoicing to know she is pain free and happy. My heart goes out to you and the family and I will continue to lift you to the Father. Never forget how much I love you both. I am as close as your phone.

  10. My deepest sympathy for Ricky and family in the loss of your dear Mother. God threw the mold away when He made Virginia. I learned to love her when working with her at Square D. She was such a hard working dear person. She was really good to me at a time in my life that I needed someone. I will never forget.
