Vera Bridges Gossett, 78, of Leicester, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, December 30, 2012.
Mrs. Gossett was born in Buncombe County and was a daughter of the late James Millard and Nora Gillespie Bridges. She was married for 49 years to William J. "Buddy" Gossett, Jr., who died in 2001.
Mrs. Gossett was a long time member of Bell United Methodist Church.
Mamaw was a sweet, caring, and kind person to everyone as well as a loving wife, mother and grandmother to her beloved family: her sons, Keith Gossett and wife, Linda, and Terry Gossett and wife, Michelle, and four grandchildren, Kristen Owen and husband, Matthew, Jared Gossett, Dalton Gossett and Ty Gossett.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday in the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral Home with the Rev. Bobby Smith officiating. Interment will follow at Bell United Methodist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
