Tommy Junior Hawkins, 73, of 1996 Old Highway 20, Marshall, died Sunday, October 21, 2012, at the John F. Keever Hospice Solace Center. Mr. Hawkins was born in Buncombe County and was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Arthur and Elizabeth Martin Hawkins, and by his sister, Betty Anders. Mr. Hawkins worked with Burlington Industries for 30 years and retired from Northside Printing and Graphics. He was a member of Cedar Hill Baptist Church, Alexander. Surviving are his wife of 54 years, Lula Mae Fox Hawkins; a daughter, Rhonda Gayle Holloway (Brian); sons, Richard Len Hawkins (Ruby) and Roger Dale Hawkins (Angela); nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at Cedar Hill Baptist Church with the Rev. Roy McPeters officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at Groce Funeral Home on Patton Avenue. The family extends grateful appreciation to the staff of CarePartners Hospice for the loving care they provided for Mr. Hawkins.
