Timothy Churchill Trively

Timothy Churchill Trively of Asheville, North Carolina, passed away on October 18, 2024.

He was born in Lincoln, Nebraska on July 17, 1937 to the late Ilo Allely Trively and Maxine Churchill Trively of Clemson, South Carolina.

After graduating from Christ School in Arden, North Carolina in 1956, he attended Clemson University where he received his Bachelor’s Degree in 1960. He obtained his Masters of Divinity at the School of Theology, The University of the South, in Sewanee, Tennessee in 1963.

He served several Episcopal congregations in North Carolina: Good Shepherd (Rocky Mount); Trinity (Scotland Neck); Holy Comforter (Charlotte); and St. James (Lenoir). He also served at St. Andrews in Tampa, Florida. After retiring from active ministry, he continued to support people as a career counselor at Bernard Haldane Associates. His favorite pastimes included reading, traveling, hiking, and tennis.

Tim was predeceased by his brother Thomas Hall Trively, Sr. of Seneca, South Carolina and sister Ann Trively Duvall of North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Tim is survived by his wife of 63 years, Anne Wells Trively, his son Winston (Sher) Trively of Colquitt, Georgia with grandsons Zane (Abby) and Hunter Trively, his son Martin (Betsy) of Roswell, Georgia with granddaughters Clare, Anna, and Mia Trively, and numerous nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews.

Following cremation, a private service will be held at a later date.
