Horse Shoe – Thomas Paul Bart, Jr., 88, of Horse Shoe, NC, formally from Binghamton, NY, passed away Thursday, June 26, 2014 at the Elizabeth House in Flat Rock. Mr. Bart was born in Pittsburgh, PA to the late Thomas Paul Bart, Sr. and Hazel Miller Bart. He was also preceded in death by daughter, Kristine, S. Gregory and son, Timothy W. Bart. He was a veteran of WWII, serving in the US Navy. He retired from Doron Precision, Inc. of Binghamton, NY and served on their Board of Directors. He attended Calvary Fellowship Church in Mills River. Surviving are his wife of 68 years, Josephine Nacco Bart; daughter, Deborah J. Barwick (Reid) of Asheville; son, Thomas P. Bart III of Binghamton, NY; son, Terry W. Bart (Linda) of Tampa, FL; seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 2, 2014 at 2:00 pm in the chapel of the Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery in Black Mountain with Pastor Noel Hendrix officiating. There will also be a memorial service to be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Elizabeth House or the charity of your choice.

    I am so sorry to hear of Tom’s passing. He was a unique individual with a blend of sincere compassion for people and a devilish sense of humor. He was a master of the ‘Art of the Sale’ and shepherded his sales staff to be all they could be. He loved his family and always wanted the best for you.
