My boys always say one their favorite parts of Christmas was delivering Mrs. Parham’s wreath and candy to her. We are grateful for every memory that we have of her – she was a very special person to our family. May you find comfort in knowing that she is now in the arms of Jesus and rejoicing in heaven. If there is anything at all that we can help you with, please let us know.

Be strong in the Lord, and He alone will get you through anything.

  12. I was sad to hear of Thelma’s passing. Thank you Mary for calling to inform me. When I was in high school in the 1970s I spent many a Friday night at the home of Thelma and Chub playing folk music, eating home cooked meals, drinking soda pop, and enjoying the wonderful hospitality the whole Parham family offered. Chub taught me to clog (“buck dancing,” as he called it). Ham and Weasel taught me guitar chords and runs. Thelma was a welcoming hostess of the house who made sure everyone had a place to park in her yard, and a good time. I remember helping the family and friends make sorghum molasses. I remember the old Parham family cabin at the bottom of the holler with the spring house and walls papered with newsprint and drawings that I made. What great stories the family told. Every year after I moved away for college Thelma sent a Xmas card and I wrote back about all my adventures. We never lost touch. I’m so grateful for her friendship. Sending warm wishes to all her family.
