Terrece Willard Burr, 61, of Candler, died on Sunday, September 3, 2017, at the CarePartners Solace Center.
Born in Frankfurt, Germany, Terry was the son of Hilde Schnautz Burr and the late Ramon Willard Burr.
Terry was a craftsman. His mechanical skills allowed him to repair or construct anything from a small engine to a commercial building. His aesthetic sensibilities enabled him to restore damaged cars, while creating beautiful finishes and flourishes as well.
He loved his family, and worked tirelessly to care for them and secure their futures, even through debilitating illness. His example and presence will be missed by all who were fortunate enough to know him.
In addition to his mother, Terry is survived by his wife, Debra Gagliano "Debbie" Burr; daughter, Krista Brown and husband David; son, Ryan Burr; grandsons, Terrece "Tre" Brown and Campbell Brown; and sister, Patti Burr.
Friends may join Terry’s family in celebrating his life on Sunday, September 17th from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Doc Brown’s BBQ, 1320 Smokey Park Hwy., Candler, NC 28715.
They may join the family again on Sunday, October 8th from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. for brunch at The Rusty Pelican. 2425 N. Rocky Point Dr., Tampa, FL 33607.
Groce Funeral Home on Patton Ave. is assisting the family in Asheville.

My sincerest condolences to the family and my prayers are with you now. I always enjoyed talking to Terry in Tampa and in North Carolina . I am saddened that such a fine man is gone. Terry was a special man. He had a huge heart and an infectious laugh. I looked up to the man he was and what he had done in his life. You will always be loved Terry. My family’s thoughts and prayer go out to you Debbie and Ryan. Know that my family is a phone call away. We love you and will always love Terry and cherish our found memories of him.
