Teresa Karen Evans Johnson, 51, of Candler, died Monday, February 17, 2014. A native of Buncombe Co., she was a daughter of the late Samuel Evans, Jr., and Margaret Rice Evans Green. Mrs. Johnson is survived by her husband, Kenny Johnson; adopted daughter, Felicia Johnson; and sisters Autumn (Boodie) Wright, Kimberly Lowe, and Tina (Mike) Conard. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday at Harmony Grove Baptist Church (N. Harmony Rd., Haywood Co.), with the Rev. Winfred Bennett officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. Her family will receive friends from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at Groce Funeral Home, Patton Ave.

  2. I had the sincere pleasure of meeting Teresa just a few years ago. She and I worked in the same building. She was one of the first people to introduce herself to me and welcome me to my new position. I can say without hesitation she is one of the kindest people I have ever met. She smiled every time I saw her! I will always remember her. I am so sorry for your loss. God bless all of you.

  6. What a shock to hear of Teresa’s passing. We worked together for years . She always had a smile on her face that would light up a room and she made this world a sweeter place to live in . Keeping all of you in our prayers.

    So sorry to see Teresa’s obit in paper. We worked together at the Red Cross for several years and I always enjoyed Teresa’s smile and sweet, easy manner. She loved her family greatly and was a friend to all. All of you are in my prayers.

    We just saw this obituary and were shocked. I am sooooo sorry for this loss for both of you. David loved Theresa so much and asked about her frequently. I am sorry that I am in Atlanta right now and can not get there. I am trying to get in touch with my Uncle who has David and have him bring David to the funeral home tonight.     I was in Teresa’s class in high school at Asheville Christian Academy. She was such a kind and gentle person, and had a distinct calming influence on the class. It was a privilege to have known Teresa! I pray for all of you God’s grace and comfort through this time of loss.
