Kitty and family,
Steve was the first’Candler Kid’ I ever saw. When I came for my interview 31 yrs. ago, I walked into the Candler School gym and Steve and Kitty were shooting basketball during lunch on a workday. It was my pleasure to teach Steve’s children, brother and work with his parents. I guess Bob and Steve are sitting around talking ‘ball’ right now.
Love to you all.

A lot of places around Candler will never be the same. I will miss you very much my friend. My prayers and shared sorrow are with your family.
I knew Steve for about 7yrs and work with him for almost 3yrs. I remember arguing with him was a daily event. It was also the highlight of my day. It wasn’t a mean arguement, but one of fun.
Steve was one of the toughest men I have ever had the privilege of knowing. This world will be a sadder place without him in it.
I will miss my friend.
Kitty so sorry to hear about the death of your son. Our thoughts and prayers are with you. He is having a wonderful homecoming with his dad.
I can’t imagine how it must feel to lose a child. God will wrap his arms aound you and comfort you thru this.

Dear Kitty and Doug and Family,
We are so sorry to hear of Steve’s passing. When we think of Steve, we see a big smile… In our kids ‘Hominy Valley’ days there was always Steve and his Dad on the ball field….
We are sure that he, Bob and Charlie are up there talking ball right now.
Steve was special.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you and the family.

Too short a time for a great person. I remember all the Little League days. My thoughts and prayer are with all the family.
Swayngim’s’ Family and Loved Ones,
We want you to know your all in our thoughts and prayers. Steve and my dad were taking treatments at the same time and Steve never failed to ask how my dad was doing. He was always concerned and my dad enjoyed talking with him. I so appreciate him taking the time to talk with my dad during this time. Bones always enjoyed running into him during breakfast at the Miami and arguing who was going to pay. Be comforted in knowing he is now spending time once again with his dad. We will truely miss him. We are out of town and wanted to send you our condolences and prayers.

Swayngim Family-
We met Steve through Michelle this past year, and he was always so upbeat and friendly to everyone. What a great guy! Our family had a special place in our hearts for Steve because my Mom recently lost her life to cancer, so we deeply understood all the pain and suffering that comes with this terrible disease. My Dad also enjoyed riding Harleys with Steve. You all are in our thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
