Shirley Myers Miller, 66, of Asheville, passed away on Monday, January 30, 2017, at JF Keever Solace Center.
Born in Buncombe County to the late Eugene and Ruby Searcy Myers, she worked as a caregiver with Stroupes Nursing Home
Survivors include brothers, Ernest Myers (Peggy) of Asheville and Jerry Myers (Barbara) of Athens, TX; sisters, Frances Willix of Asheville, Linda Wheeler (Kenneth) of Barnardsville, Kathy Buckner of Enka, Hazel McMahan (Johnny) of Black Mountain Sharon Raines of Hendersonville, and several nephews and nieces.
A funeral service will be held Saturday at 2:00 p.m. at Groce Funeral Home on Tunnel Road. Rev. Joel Burton will officiate and burial will follow at Grassy Branch Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Shirley Miller Memorial Fund, c/o Groce Funeral Home, 856 Tunnel Road, Asheville, NC, 28805.
The family wishes to express a special thank you to the staff of JF Keever Solace Center for the loving care they gave to Ms. Miller.

I was so sorry to hear about Shirley. My thoughts and prayers are with you all. I remember her from the ‘good ole days’ at Stroupes. God bless you all.
I’m so sorry to hear this, I’m in shock and have a loss of words . Shirley and I use to work together at Stroupe’s many years ago. not to mention, living in the same neighborhood. and going to school with some of her brothers and sisters. I’m sure she was greeted at heavens door by her mom Ruby, (I worked with her too ) and her brother tater. My prayers and condolences goes out to the family.
