Sarah Louise Dunn
April 16, 1917 ~ May 21, 2013
Resided in:
Asheville, NC
Sarah was born in Asheville April 16, 1917, to Flonzie and Stella Todd Miller. On Tuesday, May 21, 2013, at the age of 96, she slipped into the hands of Her Lord and Savior, her constant companion in life. Sarah attended Bible School in Ohio, and upon her return home met the love of her life, Wroton Dunn, a traveling evangelist from Mississippi. They spent the next 25 years together in ministry, until his death in 1978. She was also preceded in death by her brother, A.L. Miller.
Sarah was a successful real estate agent, a leader in Women's Aglow, the founder of a Christian Singles Ministry, on the Board of Directors for Crossroads Assembly of God Church, and a friend and prayer partner to many who sought her wisdom and counsel. Her door was always open and she greeted everyone with love, understanding and powerful prayer. Her 90th birthday was a week long celebration attended by friends and family from near and far; she was much loved and visited throughout the past 2 years of declining health. The family is grateful for the gentle care and support Sarah received while living at WNC Baptist Retirement Home.
Sarah is survived by her son, David M. and daughter-in-law, Janie Dunn; step-granddaughter, Jennifer Gregg Reed and great grandchildren, Jackson and Abby. Her sisters are Dorothy Roberson of Cleveland, TN, Martha Maltry and Mary Robinson of Candler, along with a host of nieces and nephews, all who share many precious memories of Sarah's life and devotion.
A Memorial Service is planned for Saturday, June 1, 2013 at 4pm at Piney Mtn. United Methodist Church, 14 Piney Mtn. Church Rd., Candler, NC 28715; in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Piney Mtn. UMC Cemetery Fund.

A pure blessing to my life. Especially the last 6 1/2 years. It was a joy to help care for Mother Sarah. I love and miss her so very much. She deserved the best of care, love and respect. Sarah inspired me to write again. My inspiration is gone now. I look forward to seeing her again in Heaven some day. Heaven has another angel today.
Sorry to hear about your loss. Sara was a inspiration to all of us who were blessed to know her. She will surly be missed. Will be thinking of you and your family. Pat
David: Please accept our sincere condolences. Although we haven’t keep in the best of touch, you and your family have always had a very special place in our hearts. We loved your Mother and Father and appreciated the example they lived before us at the Hoskins Church. Our love and prayers are with you. God Bless. Jim and Mabel Campbell, Pat and Teresa
I just wanted to extend a special condolence from my Mother, Carrie Heatherly. She shared a room with Sarah for a while at the Baptist Retirement Home. My mother wanted to let Sarah’s family know that she is very sorry and that her heart is truly saddened by Sarah’s death.
Our sincere thoughts and prayers are with Sarah’s family.
With deepest sympathy,
Family of Carrie Heatherly
Dear David & Family:
Just now learned of Sis. Dunn’s passing. Although we did not keep in touch over the years, she, Bro. Dunn and you have remained in our thoughts as a wonderful part of our lives (they married my husband and me in the parsonage at State Street Church of God in 1972). They were a tremendous blessing to us, and we were greatly saddened when they left Greensboro. I know Bro. & Sis. Dunn are rejoicing together in heaven now. She was a wonderful woman of God that I always looked up to, and she left you with a wonderful Christian heritage. Our prayer is that God will continue to heal your hearts from the loss.
