Sara Hall Reddish, 81, of 367 Newfound Road, Leicester, departed this life to her eternal home on Friday, January 9, 2009.
A native of Buncombe County, she was the daughter of the late Brisco T. and Vaughtie J. Hall. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Frank Earl Jones.
Mrs. Reddish was employed by Southern Bell Telephone and Telegraph Company of Asheville before transferring to C&P Telephone Company of Washington, DC, where she retired after 32 years of service. She was employed at Wayne Memorial Hospital for five years in several positions before moving back home to North Carolina where she spent five years at Renaissance Glass.
A member of Newfound Baptist Church and Joy Sunday School Class, she loved her family and friends and enjoyed traveling, eating at nice restaurants and shopping with her daughter and grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband, Warren H. Reddish; a daughter, Julie R. Collins and husband Mark, of Leicester; grandchildren, Brittany C. Hensley and husband Chad, Katelin M. Collins and Jacob R. Collins; four step-children, Warren Beverly and wife Frances of Jesup, GA, Wanda R. Sicari of Cody, WY, Nena McQuerry of Greenwood, DE and Shelly Brittingham of Powell, WY; nine step-grandchildren and 18 step-great-grandchildren; brother, George Hall and wife Betty of Hendersonville; sister-in-law, Vever Jones; special aunt, Frances Riley; four nephews, two nieces and two dear friends, Joe and Bea Hein, originally from Silver Spring, MD, now living in Myrtle Beach, SC.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday in the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral Home with the Reverend Mark Ball officiating. Burial will follow at Lewis Memorial Park.
Her family will receive friends one hour prior to the service and request that, in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to John F. Keever Solace Center, PO Box 25338, Asheville, NC 28813.

It is an honor and blessing to be a part of Sara’s extended family. Waranya and Bryan offer our heartfelt sympathy to Sara’s family at this difficult time. Her life and love is an example we could only hope to emulate.
Will miss Sara very much. There is a special place in the heart of when the family would get together of all the stories that would be told.

Sarah was so special to us as you all are.Growing up in Cornith Baptist Church I remember at a very young age sitting in the Choir thinking Sara was the most beautifull lady I had ever seen and the sweetest.Always a smile and a hug.We lost touch for several Years.Then we both ended up back here and in the Church we grew up in.We got to know Warren,Julie,Mark and those wonderful Grand children. I treasure the time We spent together and the phone calls. George and Sara never forgot roots in our little church and Dix Creek community as their mother never did. You could always count on them being there when some one passed away.Sara was loved by alot of people our family. a friend told me just last week Sara was the most beautiful woman she had ever seen.It wasn’t just on the outside. We were saddened to learn of Sara’s passing but happy to know she is free from pain and with our Heavenly Father. Seeing Sara bedridden was difficult because she was always so full of life and loved to laugh.
Our thoughts and prayers are for the family now and also for the difficult days and months ahead. Time is a healer, and God will see you through.

Warren,Julie and family I am heart broken to hear of your lost, but just think she is not suffering anymore. Sara was such a beautiful person inside and out. I know you are in pain now. Sara’s Family,
I have known Sara for most of my life and she was also an aunt by marriage to my deceased husband, Harold Webb; he really loved her and she him. Not only did I know Sara but her immediate family as well. Your loss is great and I share in your sorrow and grief. You are in my thoughts and prayers as you say your finaly tribute and goodbyes. Another Angel in Heaven
Ny heart goes out to all of Sara’s family. She was a very wonderful woman who will be very missed. She helped me several years ago with a problem I was having at work. I will always remember for her kindness, understanding and patience. I wish everyone well and will be praying for you in your time of loss.
