  8. Learned of your mother’s passing today in the Transylvania Times. I was sorry it was too late to attend her graveside service. She was very special to me during my high school years as the cheerleading sponsor. Many years later my son was on her math team just before she retired. She then tutored my daughter when she was in 9th grade. I loved her and tried to inquire about her through Grace Roy after she moved to Givens Estates. My love and prayers go out to you, Jacqui and Chip, as you cope with this loss.

  9. I learned of Ruth’s death in Sunday’s News & Observer and immediately called my Mom, Jo Fitzpatrick, in Kernersville. Bob and Ruth and Mom and Dad were great friends from Brevard days and your parents frequently stayed with us in Kernersville as they passed through. Ruth was strong, caring and I looked up to her tremendously. Chip, don’t you live in Raleigh? Jacquie, I remember your beautiful wedding so clearly. Please give us an address so my Mom can send you a card. We are so sorry about your Mother’s passing. It is the end of an era.
