Ruby M. Higgins

Ruby M. Higgins, 72, passed away Sunday morning, July 17, 2022, at the Greens of Weaverville surrounded by her family.

Mrs. Higgins was born January 25, 1950, in Franklin, to the late Jake and Layla Wilson Passmore. She was also preceded in death by 11 siblings.

She is survived by her husband, Walter J. Higgins; sons, Jamie Higgins of Hendersonville and Tony Higgins (Shelley) of Leicester; a daughter, Amy Brookshire (Greg) of Leicester; grandchildren, Matthew and Brandon Higgins and James Brookshire; and two sisters, Gertha Fowler of Swannanoa, and Dorothy Sharpe of Canton.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at Union Baptist Church, where she was a member. The Revs. Michael Reynolds and Gene Turner will officiate and James Bryant will conduct the graveside service.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. They express their sincere appreciation to the staff of Greens of Weaverville.
