Ruby Evelyn Davis Lee, 87, of Arden, passed away Sunday, June 19, 2016 at Universal Healthcare Center. A native of Henderson County, she was a daughter of the late Stralla Burgin Davis and Cornelia Josephine Fowler Davis. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Rev. James Alvin Lee; one sister, Norma West and two brothers, Carl Davis and Donald Davis. Ruby worked with her husband, not only as the office manager for their construction company, but also in his pastoral and mission work. She loved music and singing, especially touring with their family group "Lower Lights Trio", for 20 years. She is survived by her four children, a son, Eddie Lee and his wife, Cathy, of Fletcher; daughters, Linda Pike of Arden, Sheila Fender and her husband, Don, of Arden and Pamela Messer and her husband, Michael, of Fletcher; five grandchildren, Jennifer King, Kristie Brock, Brian Pike, Lana Pike, Michaela Messer; two brothers, Paul Davis and his wife, Virginia, of Mills River and Dewey Davis and his wife, Annie Mae, of Mills River, as well as five great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, June 22, 2016 at Words of Life Tabernacle. Interment will follow at the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:30 PM on Tuesday, June 21, 2016 at Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian. Flowers are appreciated, or memorial donations may be made to Words of Life Tabernacle, 815 Glenn Bridge Rd, Arden, NC 28704.

    I am so sorry for your loss. Your mother just wanted to be with her soul mate. Your Mom and Dad are up in heaven together probably talking about all their children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Though you will miss her dearly, she is not suffering any longer and you will see her again one day. Please know that our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family at this time.

    I was sorry to hear of your loss. I haven’t seen Mrs. Lee in quite a few years but she was always sweet, kind and had a great sense of humor. I have great teenage memories of those weekends with the Lower Lights Trio. Blessings and peace to you all.
