Rosalie Horton

Mrs. Horton was born in Burnsville, and was a daughter of the late James and Rosa Butner Cassida.  She formerly worked at Glendale and Vanderbilt Shirt Companies and was a former member of Grace Baptist Church.

She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, William D. and Dorothy Horton of Clarkesville;  three grandchildren, Steven Horton and Julia Satterfield of Smyrna, GA, and David Horton of Clarkesville, GA;  six great-grandchildren;  a sister, Margaret Calloway of Asheville;  two sisters-in-law, Bonnie Cassida of Asheville and Nora Cassida of Union, SC;  a brother-in-law, Bowers Robinson of Arden, and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 am Saturday in the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral Home with the Revs. Walter Styles and Daniel A. Bowers officiating.  Burial will be at Academy Hill Cemetery in Burnsville.

Her family will receive friends from 7 - 8:30 pm Friday at the funeral home and request that memorials be made to the American Heart Association.
