Roger "Dale" Whitaker, 69, of Asheville, passed away on Wednesday, September 14, 2016, at Mission Hospital.
Born in Buncombe Co. to the late Charles and Beatrice Gryder Whitaker, he retired as a designer with Day Associates and was a member of Reynolds Baptist Church where he served as deacon and Sunday school superintendent.
Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Patty Qualls Whitaker, son, Ronnie Whitaker, daughter, Melinda Carrabis (Patrick), all of Asheville; and sister, Charlene Fowler, of Marion.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, September 25, at 3:00 p.m. at Reynolds Baptist
Church. Rev. Bobby Smith will officiate.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Reynolds Baptist Church, 520 Rose Hill Road, Asheville, NC, 28803.
Groce Funeral Home on Tunnel Rd. is assisting
the family.
