  1. I consider myself very fortunate to have known and shared the joy of creating music with Bob Schell. We both were charter members of the Asheville Community Band and played in the concert band and the UNCA Jazz band together for many years . Even after reaching the age that he didn’t play with the band, he always attended the concerts and his heart remained with the band. He was a very good musician and always had a warm smile and an upbeat word every time I saw him. My thoughts and prayers are with the Family during this time . George Brown
