Robert Earl Robeson, of Arden, died Thursday, December 5, 2013 at Givens Estates Healthcare Center. A native of Maryville, TN, he was the son of the late Linton Hugh and Georgia Marie Weaver Robeson. He was also preceded in death by one sister, Donna Robeson Moore. He was the owner and sole operator of MTI, which sold precision instruments to racing teams and factories. A man of integrity, his philosophy was "take a loss as opposed to giving someone else a loss". He was an adventurer and was a true hybrid mix of rugged mountain man and gracious Southern gentleman. Robert is survived by his wife of 50 years, Hope Justus Robeson; one son, Mark David Robeson and his wife, Jenny, of Charlotte and two grandchildren, Andrew Robert Robeson and Matthew Thomas Robeson. The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00 PM on Saturday, December 7, 2013 at Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian, followed by a graveside service at Calvary Episcopal Churchyard, which will be officiated by Reverend Sam McLamb. In lieu of flowers, the family graciously asks that you consider a memorial contribution in Robert's memory to the Western Carolina Rescue Mission, 225 Patton Avenue, Asheville, NC 28801.

  1. Please accept my sincere condolences for your loss. Death is the enemy of all mankind, yet when it touches us personally, few find the comfort they search for. And death itself leaves so many with unanswered questions. Many have found comfort in the pages of God’s Word the Bible (2 Corinthians 1:3, 4). In God’s word we find the promise that we can be reunited with our loved ones (John 5:28,29; Acts 24:15). The Bible also tells us where this happy reunion will take place (Psalm 37: 11, 29). The God of the Bible will eliminate death forever (Isaiah 25:8; Revelation 21:3,4). To find more satisfying Bible answers, please go to the website jw.org.
