Richard Morris

Richard Morris, 86, died Saturday, October 25, 2008, at his home at Deerfield. Mr. Morris was a native of Athens, GA, and was a son of the late John and Gretchen Gallagher Morris. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ann Slusher Morris, who died in 1977. Mr. Morris was a graduate of the University of Georgia and served with the First Cavalry, US Army, in the Pacific Theater during WW II. He was a former journalist and a retired public relations executive. He was a member of the National Press Club. Surviving are two daughters, Gretchen Morris Kelly and husband, Bob, of Arden and Lisa Morris Fecke and husband, John, of Madison, CT; two sons, Richard G. Morris and wife, Patricia Demyan, of Syracuse, NY, and William R. Morris, of New York, NY; and five grandchildren, Conor, Garrett, and Devon Kelly and Mariah and Elsa Fecke. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated by the Rev. Fr. Adrian Porras at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, November 1, at St. Barnabas Catholic Church.
