Rev. William Luther “Bill” Lance, 66, of Marshall, passed away Saturday, March 8, 2025 at Mission Hospital.

Born June 24, 1958 in Buncombe Co., Bill was a son of the late Charles Luther Lance and Patricia Ann Crane Lance. He was also preceded in death by his daughter, Tiffany Lance Boone, his son, Timothy Lance, and his former wife and mother of his children, Katie Clark Lance.

Rev. Lance was the former pastor of Redmon Baptist Church. He was very active in Hurricane Helene relief, bringing supplies and comfort to many people. He was very compassionate, and deeply loved. He will be deeply missed and cherished by those he knew and left behind.

Surviving is his wife, Tammy Denise Rose Lance; daughters, Tamara Kalyn McMahan, Bailie Murphy and Viala Murphy; step-children, Christopher, Eric and Keila; five grandchildren, Chaz, Brock, Amariel, Brody and Bralyn; sister, Debra Mendoza; and brother, James Robert Lance.

Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, April 11, 2025 at Mt. Calvary Independent Baptist Church, 1 Tahkieostie Trail, Asheville, NC 28806 (off of Riverview Drive). Pastor Powell Young will officiate.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mt. Calvary Independent Baptist Church, 1 Tahkieostie Trail, Asheville, NC 28806.
