Rebecca "Becky" Wilson Greene

April 12, 1943 ~ July 25, 2023
Born in:
Polk Co., NC
Resided in:
Candler, NC
Rebecca “Becky” Wilson Greene passed away on July due to complications from Alzheimer’s Disease.
Becky was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald Greene, her parents, Reuben and Gurlia Wilson and her brother, George Wilson.
Becky is survived by her daughter, Pam Dixon, her son Eric Greene, Pam’s son Matthew and his wife Hayley and their daughter Emma Rebecca Dixon. She also leaves behind two faithful, loving and devoted sisters, Nelda Pace (Harold), Sue Ballard and many loved nieces, nephews and cousins. She will also be remembered by her long-time friends from Bent Creek Baptist Church, Pole Creek Baptist Church, Biltmore Baptist Church and the friends she made at different work places throughout her life.
Becky grew up in the apple country of Edneyville, NC, and spent much of her humble childhood working hard next to her father, mother, sisters and brother George. Becky started singing gospel music at a young age and continued this ministry throughout her life.
Proverbs 31 best describes the person that was Becky as she lived her life full of faith, purity of heart, charity, kindness and always putting the needs of others above herself. The Becky you met or heard sing, was the Becky she was at home and with her family. Becky was full of life and always had a spirit about her that others wanted to be around. Becky loved to work in her yard, feed the squirrels and birds, read, sew, keep a clean house, and cook for her family, especially for her grandson Matt. Her Salisbury steak and mashed potatoes were the best ever.
She will be greatly missed by who all who knew her, but we will all take comfort in knowing that she is in place where she is whole and can look out for us from above, the same as she did everyday of her life here on earth.
A receiving of friends will occur at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, July 28 at Groce Funeral Home on Patton Avenue in Asheville, with a funeral service to follow at 2:00 p.m. and burial afterwards at Pisgah View Memorial Park in Candler, NC.
The family would like to thank the Memory Care Staff at Brookdale of Walden Ridge and the staff at Elizabeth House in Hendersonville for their loving care of Becky.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider a donation to Memory Care of Asheville. Their information can be found here: https://memorycare.org/

Remembering Becky from Telco at Square D. She was always very conscientious and helpful to our Square D Family. My condolences to her family and friends.
Becky was one of my favorite people growing up. My dad played bass for the trio at Bent Creek and I loved to hear her sing. She was the real deal! My dad thought the world of her. I am sure they are rejoicing together today!
To think of Betty singing in heaven makes us happy.
My thoughts and prayers are with all of you.
Becky had the sweetest personality and smile. Her singing was beautiful. Many times, she sang “I fell on my knees and cried Holy” . At Pole Creek. Always made you cry, shout or have chills. Her voice was beautiful.
Praying for family. Carolyn Stamey
Becky and her family were our neighbors on Berry Hill Dr.
Becky was a wonder person. I loved to hear her sing,” I fell on my knees and cried holy” We had lunch with her and Gerald not long before she got sick. I have so many of her albums. I think everyone of them. Pam, Eric, and Matthew, we love you and are here for you. Matthew, she really loved you and told how much joy you gave her.
What sweet memories of your mother singing about her Jesus. What a voice she had! A lot of memories from years past. Keeping you all in our thoughts and prayers.
