Memories Timeline

Guestbook

  1. I first met Pat forty years ago, her smile and easy going mannerisms made you feel at ease. It wasn’t until 2000 that I got to know more about this gracious lady, when we worked together at Vine Cottage in the Human Services Department. As a nurse this was a new experience for me as a Senior Outreach Worker. Pat knew many of our clients because of her years in New Canaan and Dr. Crown’s practice, she was supportive and together we made a good team. She always greeted everyone with a gentle smile and would say, “How can I help you.”
After she retired from Vine Cottage we would meet in Mead Park for lunch, or kept in touch by phone. I remember how proudly she marched in the Memorial Day parade for the DAR, happily described the family musical gatherings, and did catch-up of what was happening to our clients and the office , and lastly how she was doing with her Spanish. Many of our clients would ask about Pat and recall how she had always been so kind.
I last saw Pat at Waveny Care after Dr., Crown’s passing ,when she remarked she wanted to be someplace else. I was told that she had gone with her family, I felt glad for her. I have fond memories of this gentle yet strong lady, and glad for the times we shared.

  2. On behalf of the 2,350 members of Connecticut DAR, I send our sincere condolences to the family of Pat Crown. Pat was a longstanding member of the DAR, having joined in 1990. We remember her fondly marching with the Hannah Benedict Carter Chapter in the New Canaan Memorial Day parade. May God bless you all as you mourn the loss of dear Pat. We thank her for her membership and for all that she did as a kind and caring social worker in New Canaan.

  3. Very sorry to hear this sad news. She was a wonderful wife and companion to my father, Dr Charles Crown for forty years, and a gracious lady filled with southern hospitality. Always kind and welcoming to me
during my visits, I considered her a friend. RIP Pat
