Asheville – Oliver Kenneth Bell, 92, passed away Saturday, May 31, 2014 at his residence. Mr. Bell was born in Bessemer, Alabama to the late Leola Simmons and Onie Byron Bell. He was a Retired Veteran of the U.S. Air Force with 21 years of service. He served during WWII in Europe with the 628th Tank Destroyer Battalion. He was a loving husband, father and friend. Oliver is survived by his wife of over 40 years, Aseneth Bell; daughter, Diane Dick and her husband, Charles of Panama City, Florida; two sons, Brian Bell and his wife, Tiffany of Asheville and Kenneth Lee Bell of Geneva, Alabama; two sisters, Elizabeth Vassar and her husband, Donald and Virginia Cornelius; two grandchildren, Heather Guta and her husband, Nathan and Kenny Dick; two great grandchildren, Cody and Emily and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. A private memorial service will be held at the State Veterans Cemetery in Black Mountain. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association. www.alz.org
