Millie Parrish Brown, 72, of Candler, died on Thursday, November 6, 2014, at the John F. Keever Hospice Solace Center.
A native of Durham, NC, Mrs. Brown was a daughter of the late E.P. and Mildred Powers Parrish. She was also preceded in death by her son, Randy Ricketts, and by her brothers, E.P. "Buck" Jr., and Ben Powers.
Mrs. Brown is survived by her husband, Michael Gene Brown; sons, Billy Ricketts and Barry Ricketts; sister, Martha Kennedy and husband Sonny; sister-in-law, Lois Parrish; grandsons, Billy Ricketts, III, and Cody Ricketts; and a number of nieces and nephews.
A funeral service for Mrs. Brown will be at 2:00 p.m. on Monday at the Groce Funeral Home chapel on Patton Ave. with the Rev. Ed Worley and Fr. John Zboyovski officiating. Entombment will follow at the Forest Lawn Memorial Park Mausoleum.
Her family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Millie was a kind generous loving wife, mother, Nana and friend…I will carry in my heart many laughs and many things that she taught me…I love her very much and am proud to be the mother of her youngest grandson Cody Ricketts…what a blessing in life to be loved by such a magnificent classy lady…Rest in Peace Nana…I Love You
