Michael Dean Pearson, 66, went to his heavenly home on Friday, December 13, 2019. He passed away at Mission Hospital.
Mike was born in Haywood County, a son of Wilbur Dean Pearson (Janie) and of the late Corena Robinson Pearson. He lived in the Asheville area. He was also preceded in death by his infant sister, Vicky Lynn Pearson.
Mike loved spending time with his family, and especially all his grandchildren. He worked at Parkway Chevrolet and had years of experience working with his father as a mechanic in the Candler area. Mike enjoyed hunting, fishing and racing his old “55” Chevrolet.
Most important, Mike was a Christian and had a strong faith in the Lord. He attended the Blue Ridge Cowboy Church, and read his Bible daily. We, as a family, thank his church for all the love and help they have provided for “Dad” and us, especially during this hard time.
In addition to his father, Mike is survived by his daughters, Beth King (Ralph), Laura Correll (David), and Kristen Caison (David), and his lifelong friend, Barbara Pearson Dykes. “Pepaw” loved all of his grandchildren: Nicolas, Landon, Cooper, Carlee, Kendall, Carter, Isaiah, and Daniel. Also surviving are Mike’s brother Tommy and family, sister Donna and family, along with sister Diane and family.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 19, in the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral Home, with Pastor Louis Gibson officiating. Interment will follow at Green Hills Cemetery.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Blue Ridge Cowboy Church, 49 Saxon Hill, Fairview, NC 28730.

With deepest sympathy. Mike was a beloved part of the Blue Ridge Cowboy Church. I had the opportunity to do a singing at Chunns cove twice when he was there. He loved God with all his heart.
