I also remember Mary as a kind and compassionate person, always mindful of others and their feelings. She was Director of Personnel when I started working at UNCA in the early 80’s and I’ll always remember how comfortable she made me feel. She gave me her banana pudding recipe which I still use to this day and I think of her every time I make it. I hope your fond memories of her will sustain you in the days ahead.
I was out of town all last week and just learned of Mary’s death. My sincere condolences to her family. I worked with Mary at A-B and later UNCA for over 20 years and always admired her professional talents but remember most her human qualities of kindness, humor and grace under pressure. She was an amazing administrator while at the same time remaining a good and gentle human being. It was my great pleasure to know her and you have my deepest sympathies.

Paula and Mary’s Family, Regardless of age, health, or any other circumstance in life we are never ready to lose our loved ones. The only comfort has to be our Faith in the Sovereignty of God and the manifested concern of caring friends. Please know you are in my thoughts and prayers and I hope in some small way it helps to know that others do care. Mary
Paula, Dale, Dana and Stacy,
My thoughts and prayers are with you during this time. Love to all.
With deepest sympathy to all of you now and in days to come.
With our deepest sympathy
We remember Mary (and, also, Ray) with great fondness and respect, not only as a colleague at UNCA for many years, but also as a fellow Western Square Dancer. What a wonderful smile Mary invariably displayed. She will be sorely missed by all her great many friends at UNCA, in the WNC square dance community as well as all the many organizations to which she so greately contributed. Our condolences and heartfelt sympathy to her family.
