Mary Frances Austin Roberts, 79, of Hazy Dawn Lane, died Monday, February 11, 2013.
Mrs. Roberts was born in Buncombe County and was a daughter of the late Albert and Meta Ingle Austin. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Deborah Woods and a brother, Paul Austin.
She is survived by her husband, James Roberts; two sons, Robert Ullom and Shelby Ullom, four sisters, Wilma Miller, Alberta Mease (John), Kathleen Fish (Jerry), and Doris Revis (Ronald); three brothers, Donald Austin (Vivian), George Austin (Gail) and Joe Austin (Linda), and several grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Friday in the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral Home with the Rev. Donald Austin officiating. Interment will follow at the Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

To the Family of Mary Frances; I am so sorry for your loss. I can remember visting Uncle Furman and and Meta many times and seeing her then. My sister Bea and I had so much fun visiting because we were much younger than some of the kids and they would take us to the barn and let us see the farm animals and it was there that Uncle Furman let me try to milk my first and only cow. Memories like that are wonderful. I will keep you in my prayers.
