Fairview ~ Mary Frances Stanley Turner, 85, of Fairview passed away Saturday, December 01, 2012 at The Oaks at Sweeten Creek.
A native of Decatur, Ill, she was the daughter of the late Fred Arthur Stanley and Anna Borcher Stanley. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ellis "Dan" Turner. They were married on September 9, 1946. She was also preceded in death by her son, Ellis D. "Butch" Turner, Jr., a sister, Wilma Stanley Cobell and a brother, Fred Stanley. Her life has been an adventure in the company of her family.
Mrs. Turner was the beloved mother of two daughters, Denise Ann Thomas and her husband, Robert of Fairview, Beverly Jean Turner Jones and her husband, Michael of Fairview; and by a daughter-in-law, Mary Turner of Newark, Illinois. two sisters, Gertrude Stanley Martin of California and Barbara Stanley White of Scottsburg, Indiana; a brother, Larry Stanley of Decatur. Mrs. Turner is also survived by four grandchildren, Jean Ann Piel of Florida, Steven Piel of Florida, Andrew Thomas of North Carolina and Erin Turner of Illinois; five great-grandchildren, Clay, Megan, Carl , Jessica and Joey and a great-great-grandson soon to arrive.
Graveside services will be held at Lorton Cemetery in Cowden, Illinois with Robert Thomas, minister officiating.
Moran and Goebel Funeral Home in Decatur, Illinois is assisting the family (217) 875-2004.
Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian is assisting the family locally.
