Marjorie Graham Gash

Dr. Gash was born in Cleveland, OH, and was a daughter of the late Robert Alvin and Lillian Davis Graham. She was married to Alfred Page Gash who died in 1977. She served in the Army as a cryptologist during WW II and she was a member of First Baptist Church. She was active with several community groups in the Bee Tree and Swannanoa area, and was an avid gardener.
She received her Masters Degree and her Doctorate (E.D.D.) from NC State University, and she was a former instructor at Asheville-Buncombe Technical College.
She is survived by one daughter, Brenda Jefferies of Raleigh; two sons, Alfred Graham Gash of Chapel Hill and Richard Dennis Gash of Atlanta; one brother, Robert A. Graham of Westlake, OH; and four grandchildren, Deborah Anne Jefferies, Kevin Michael Jefferies, Robert Boyd Jefferies, and Anthony Michael Gash.
Graveside services will be at 3:00 pm Monday at Pisgah View Memorial Park with the Rev. Gail Coulter officiating.
Her family will receive friends from 7 - 8:30 pm Sunday at Groce Funeral Home on Patton Avenue.
