I am so grateful that God brought this beautiful woman into my life over 45 years ago. I have always cherished the laughter, shared experiences and comraderly; wonderful memories that bind friends together for life. What a blessing she has been! I will miss her for a time but await a reunion in Heaven. To Carole, we are here for you, our dear friend. Love and peace is prayed for to Peg’s family and friends as you mourn her loss.

Arden – Margaret (Peg) Wittig Lewis, 80, passed away Sunday, April 13, 2025, at
Mission Hospital.
Peg was born in Shenandoah, Pennsylvania to the late Ralph and Mary Mildred Isgate
Wittig. She is preceded in death by her husband, Reverend Ernest (Ernie) Lewis; a
brother Ralph Wittig ; a sister, Doris Kehlor, her husband Wesley Kehlor and brother-in-
law John Braud.
She worked for years as an ICU nurse and later became a consultant in the healthcare
industry. She went on to earn a seminary degree from Fuller Seminary in Pasadena,
California and ministered to elders through La Jolla Presbyterian Church in La Jolla,
California. She truly loved her work and enjoyed birding as a hobby.
Peg will be greatly missed by her sister Carol Braud and her son John Paul; sister-in-
law Lisa Wittig and her three sons; Chad, his wife Kara; Keith and John and his wife
Elizabeth and life-long friend Carole Miller, Ernie’s three children and their children,
daughter Kathryn and her son Andrew, son Michael, his wife Irene, and their children
Olivia, Avery, and Wyatt, Stephen, his former wife Beverly, and their children, Amelia
and Dane.
A celebration of life service will be held at New Hope Presbyterian Church on Sweeten
Creek Road in Asheville at a date to be determined.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Rheumatoid Arthritis
