Margaret Fox McDaniel, 95, of Asheville, passed away on Sunday, February 5, 2017, at Fleshers Fairview. Born in London, England, to the late Charles and Mary Crook Fox, she is also preceded in death by her husbands, Palmer M. Carson and William T. McDaniel; sister Eileen Aysh and brothers Cyril and Ronald Fox. Mrs. McDaniel worked as a medical assistant for sixteen years and was a World War II veteran of the British Navy. She was a member of Groce United Methodist Church. Survivors include daughters, Betty C. Smith (Bruce) of Asheville, Deborah C. Hinnant (Don) of Asheville and Lynda D. McDaniel of Raleigh; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held Saturday at 2:00 p.m. at Groce Funeral Home on Tunnel Road. Rev. Gerald Davis will officiate. The family will receive friends following the service. The family wishes to extend a special thanks to the staffs of Fleshers Fairview and CarePartners Hospice.
