In Loving Memory of Lynn Griffith Daniel

Lynn Griffith Daniel, a cherished mother, grandmother, sister, and dedicated animal advocate, passed away on Saturday, March 28, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of creativity, compassion, and unwavering kindness.

Born in Bethesda, Maryland, to Shirley and Frances Griffith, Lynn moved to Asheville with her parents as a teenager, where she found the place she would ultimately call home. She attended Lee Edwards High School before pursuing her education at Guilford College in Greensboro. She went on to graduate from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a degree in Sociology, a field that surely informed her lifelong dedication to helping others.

Lynn’s professional journey was marked by a deep passion for artistry. While working at High Country Crafters, she fell in love with the craft of jewelry making. This sparked a highly successful career during which she became widely known for designing beautiful, custom wedding bands. Her talent and dedication led her to become a co-owner of Blue Goldsmiths in Biltmore Village, where her work became a permanent part of countless love stories.

After retiring from the bench, Lynn pivoted her immense energy toward her truest calling: rescuing dogs. She founded “Lynn For the Animals,” an organization through which she worked tirelessly to save countless dogs and match them with their forever homes. In doing so, she provided a profound service to both the animals she rescued and the many humans whose lives were transformed by the love of their new companions.

Lynn was preceded in death by her parents, Shirley and Frances Griffith; her sister, Corinne Forgey; and her first husband, Geoffrey Seng.

She leaves behind a family who will miss her dearly: her sisters, Patricia Pankey and Ann Simpson; her son, Kelly Daniel; her daughter, Amelia Stamps; her son-in-law, Hunter Stamps; and her beloved granddaughters, Brooklyn and Madison Stamps.

A memorial gathering will be held on Friday, April 3 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Groce Funeral Home on Patton Avenue.

In honor of Lynn’s lifelong commitment to her furry friends, the family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to her rescue organization, “Lynn For the Animals Rescue Squad.” Donations can be sent to the organization’s PayPal account: Lynnfortheanimals@gmail.com

Guestbook

  1. Oh Lynn Lynn, how are we gonna make it without your guidance & knowledge? You were the best of the best. Never complaining & always there when someone needed you. I am devastated by your loss & keep hoping this is just a dream & I’m gonna wake up & you’ll still be here. Rest easy my sweet, precious friend. See you on the other side. My heart is breaking with & for your family, I am truly saddened.

  2. My dear friend, gone so suddenly, good for you to not suffer. But we embrace you. And we mourn you leaving us. Love you lynn

  3. Oh Lynn, this is so unfair. We had just reconnected and it was so great. I am so heartbroken for your family and for all of of thoses who loved you deeply. I know there are so many furbabies that were waiting for you. Fly high my beautiful friend. We will be lost without you.

  4. Lynn was a very special lady. Her devotion to rescuing animals were an inspiration to me. She will be greatly missed. My thoughts and prayers to her family. Kelly Brown

  5. I have no words to express how sad I am for your sudden passing my dear precious friend. Our friendship goes way back many years and you are the only person that loved our dear cocker spaniels as much as I. I will always love you and your unwavering love for the four pawed animals that you so truly cared for. We have lost someone that will never be forgotten and can never be replaced. Our world was much better with you in it my friend.
Praying for your family and friends that share in this loss.

  6. Lynn, you gave your love to all and I am lucky enough to have been included. Our life together was magical and I remember vividly the moment you said you wanted to rescue cocker spaniels. Samantha had just passed and to help fill the hole in your heart, rescuing dogs seemed right. I had no idea what I was in for. The house was full of love and dogs. Our high water mark was 15 at once and no one slept alone. Facebook auctions, packing parties, feeding time and all else at home took a back burner. What a joy in my life you are. I’m only sorry we never got to Paris.

    Tu me manques.

  7. There were several times within the past couple of weeks you laid on my mind. I meant to reach out. Lynn. I am sorry I missed having that conversation. You were such an incredible voice for the animals. There are so many great memories I have of you. You will be missed!! Greatly missed.

  8. Thank you Lynn for helping my Josie. You gave an unbelievable amount of love, time and money for an equally unbelievable amount of animals during your life here on earth. Rest in peace and know we all will continue to spread your love for all the fur babies.

  9. Lynn and I go way back to craft show days. I still wear her jewelry regularly, still enjoy Amelia’s beautiful pots in my home, and smile whenever I think of her. My heart goes out to all of her loved ones, as she loved you all dearly.
