Lula M. Ward

Lula Mae Ward, 89, of Arden, died Friday, February 20, 2015 at Pardee Hospital. A native of Henderson County, she was the daughter of the late Oscar and Madge Williams Fisher. Lula was a graduate of the former Asheville School of Practical Nursing. She served her community in that capacity for many years. Her love of nursing and her professionalism were boundless. She was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, John Claude Ward, on September 19, 2011. She is survived by one daughter, Patricia Anne Ward and her husband Garland L. Black, of Cherokee TX; two sons, Don Ward and fiance Sharon Howard of Seneca, SC and Tom Ward and fiance JoAnne Laverdet of Hendersonville, as well as two sisters, Barbara Baldwin of Flat Rock, and Dorothy Marshall of Rochester, Minnesota. Entombment will be private. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
