Asheville ~ Lucia Ruth Wallen Davis, 80, of Asheville, died Wednesday, December 20, 2006 in a local hospital. A native of Buncombe County, she was a daughter of the late Floyd and Catherine Lipe Wallen. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Davis; a grandson, Christopher Brian O’Shields and two brothers, Dean and Ralph Wallen. She is survived by two daughters, Marilyn Hampton of Conroe, TX and Olive Jane Stepp and her husband Charles of Raleigh, NC; one son, John Stellios Davis of Asheville; one sister, Olive L. Forrester of Asheville; two grandchildren, Leslie Meeteer and Chris Hampton and one great-grandchild, Afton Meeteer. Ruth was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who will be greatly missed by all who knew her. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday at Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

  1. Marylin sorry to see this, I wonder about you lots and where you were and how things were. Had worked with your mom at C.P. Clare some years back. Time gets away seems only yesterday we were young.Remember Me you and Charlotte and Dean walking the railroad to your house. My thoughts are with you we lost mother in 1996. I am still in Asheville call sometime if you are here for awhile.
