Louise Waycaster Creasman

louise creasman

Louise Waycaster Creasman, born June 21, 1939, peacefully completed her earthly journey at age 85 on April 7, 2025, at the John F. Keever Jr. Solace Center, following a lengthy but valiant battle with pancreatic cancer.

A native of the mountains which she so dearly loved, she graduated from Lee Edwards High School, Class of ’57. She met and married the love of her life, the late Thomas L. Creasman, and they began to build their home in the West Asheville area in the same house in which she was born. Louise operated her own hair salon in the downstairs area of their home.

Louise was many things to many people, and she faced life with an unmatched sense of humor and joy – she never met a stranger. Her trademark greeting to all who visited her was “Hey, honey!” Even after she became sick, she greeted visitors one and all with such enthusiasm that you would never know she was terminally ill. She had many “best friends” – both in her Church and her neighborhood. She loved her Lord and Savior and every animal of every description – but was particularly fond of dogs. Those who knew her best know she was an avid fan of Elvis and over the years collected a considerable amount of memorabilia.

In addition to her husband of 46 years, Tom, Louise was preceded in death by her parents, the late George and Bertie Wilson Waycaster; her brother, William Alvoid Waycaster; sisters, Helen Waycaster Manning, Lois Waycaster Bailey, Virginia Waycaster Fisher, and Lottie Waycaster Pressley; her nephew, Greg Pressley; her niece, Julia Diane Young Manuel; and her brothers-in-law, James Jarrett Young, John Wayne Creasman and William Daniel Creasman.

Louise is survived by her brother-in-law, Bill Pressley; her sisters-in-law, Virginia Creasman Young and Joan Dickerson Creasman; her nieces, Debra Young Brown and Donna Young Kocot; her nephews, John Thomas Creasman, Jeremy Daniel Creasman, Jeff Pressley, Larry Fisher, Terry Manning and Gary Bailey; great-nephews, Matthew Fisher and William Daniel Creasman; and her wonderful caring neighbors.

Her nephews and great-nephews will serve as honorary pallbearers at her graveside service at Lewis Memorial Park on Thursday, April 10, 2025, at 2:00 p.m., with Pastor Eric Hill officiating.

The family would like to express their sincere gratitude for the wonderful care that Louise received throughout her illness from Hospice – CarePartners, the Solace Center, and especially Megan McNamara, her amazing social worker, and her wonderful friend, Jan Creasman who cared for Louise throughout her illness in one manner or another.

Memorials may be given in Louise’s memory to Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church, 2312 Smoky Park Highway, Candler, NC 28715 or to your favorite animal charity.

  1. I love you and will miss you so much. We will be together again some day. Prayer for your family. Enjoy Tom and make him behave. Enjoy Heaven
Love you honey. Watch over us. Love Annette Guthrie

  2. I loved “Lukie” so much. After I moved back to the area, we had re-established our relationship. We always referred to each other as “the sweetest little cousin in the whole wide world” She was indeed the sweetest and funniest person I know. I will miss her greatly.

  3. I loved Louise !! We called each other “stylist” due to a hair show we attended. We could laugh just looking at each other. Fun times!! I’m so glad she is not suffering any more. Was indeed a ‘trooper’ thru this illness. Seemed like she knew just what to say when you needed encouraging or empathy. I will miss her.
