Linda Wilson Swing

Linda Wilson Swing, 79, passed away on Thursday, February 19, 2026, at Aston Park Health Care Center.

A native of Lexington, NC, Linda was the daughter of the late George Herbert and Thelma Younts Wilson.

Mrs. Swing is survived by her daughters, Shanna Swing Leynes (husband John Leynes) and Melanie Norman (husband Paul Norman); sons, Derrick Swing (wife Erika Swing) and Pierce Lloyd Swing, III (wife Mitzi Swing); seven grandchildren, Josh, Joe, Carson, Avery, Sebastian, Izel, Oliver, and Lizzie; and three great-grandchildren, Ryan, Jack, and Jason.

Linda fought a 10-year battle with dementia with the same determination that defined her entire life. She was a fighter, courageous, resilient, and unwavering in her spirit. She was honest and real; strength wasn’t just what she showed, it is who she was. Before illness touched her life, she was healthy, vibrant, and full of joy. Her smile lit up the room.

She had a way of making people feel seen and never judged. Her greatest accomplishment was her four children. Her children were her heart, her strength, and her love. And by her side was her beloved dog, Rosie.

Linda was an amazing spirit, loving mother, and a woman of integrity. Her strength lives in her children; her love remains in our hearts, and her light will never fade.

A Celebration of Linda’s Life will be held in the spring in Jacksonville, Florida.
