Linda Bryson Odom

Linda Bryson Odom, 76, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, May 18, 2024.

An Asheville native, Linda was the daughter of the late William Ray and Alene Collins Bryson. She was also preceded in death by her husband for 51 years, Gary Dean Odom.

Linda was a devoted wife, loving mother, and loyal daughter. She loved the Lord, and spent many early years offering her talents in church as the pianist. She poured herself into raising her own three children, and also spent much of her time over the years caring for others’ children in her home and in daycares. Her love and joy of caring for God’s smallest of us all, began even as a child as she would get her Sunday clothes dirty trying to take care of the babies and children. Any who left a child in her care over the years, knew there would be an abundance of care and love poured upon them.

She is survived by her daughter, Kellie O. Fore (Ryan); sons, Jeff Odom (Lisa) and Curtis Odom; grandchildren, Hayden Odom, Grayson Fore and Maddie Grace Fore; and granddaughter adopted out of love, Jessica Underwood and her son, Malcolm.

Mrs. Odom’s family will receive friends beginning at 1:00 p.m. on Friday May 24, at Groce Funeral Home on Patton Ave. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. The Rev. Dr. Ronnie Owen will officiate. Burial will then take place at Green Hills Cemetery.
