Lillian C. Briggs

LILLIAN C. BRIGGS Lillian C. Briggs, 90, of 1314 Tunnel Road, Asheville, went to be with the Lord Tuesday, December 28, 2004, at St. Joseph Campus, Mission Hospital. Mrs. Briggs was born in Ellis County, TX, and was a daughter of the late Will and Jennie Mae Lester Cook. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Oather Richard Briggs, a son, Jerry R. Briggs, a grandson Tim Briggs and a son-in-law Gene Edwards. She was a former member of Green Memorial United Methodist Church. Surviving are two daughters, Pat Briggs Roberts of Greenville, SC and Ann Edwards of Canton; two sons, Jack T. Briggs of Asheville and Don F. Briggs of Leesburg, FL; twelve grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday in the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral Home with the Rev. Steve Harris officiating. Burial will be at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. Her family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service and request that memorials be made to Trinity of Fairview Baptist Church, PO Box 2040, Fairview, NC 28730.
