Leroy Hubert Scott, 82, of Leicester, died Thursday, December 15, 2016, at Mission Hospital. A native of Haywood Co., he was a son of the late Hubert and Delia Worley Scott. Mr. Scott was a veteran of the U.S. Marines. He worked for Ball Glass for 34 years, and attended West Asheville Baptist Church. Surviving are his wife of 59 years, Annie Jo Scott; daughter, Yvette Smith and husband Marvin; son, Jack Leroy Scott and wife Grace; and Papaw of 3 granddaughters, Ashleigh Smith Rogers (Jonathon), Erica Riane Smith, and Delia Grace Scott. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday in the Patton Ave. chapel of Groce Funeral Home, with the Rev. Dr. Stan Welch officiating. Interment will follow at Ashelawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the West Asheville Baptist Church Elevator Fund, 926 Haywood Rd., Asheville, NC 28806.

  2. My husband loved his Uncle Leroy and enjoyed his many talks with him. We know he was a good, kind, person who will go on to be with his Heavenly Father and the family members who have gone on before him.
