Lawrence Ronald Lambert died peacefully surrounded by family on January 3, 2017, after an extended illness. He was born November 25, 1950, and was the son of Margaret Hayes and Hobart Sherman Lambert. Ronnie left a career at Carolina Power and Light Company to pursue his true calling in law enforcement, working for Woodfin Police Department, Buncombe County Sheriff's Department, and serving as Police Chief for Hot Springs, NC. He also had many interests and hobbies including karate, cars, especially Corvettes, his treasured gun collection and Civil War History. He could build or fix anything. His sense of humor and supply of jokes were endless. Ronnie was predeceased by his father. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Susan Taylor Lambert, who cared for him in the home for many years; his sister, Carole Lentz (Devere); niece, Julie Waldrop Wise (Todd); great-niece, Lauren Wise; great-nephew, Devan Wise; mother-in-law, Flora Taylor; sister-in-law, Laura Taylor; and brother-in-law, David Taylor (Judy). Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Friday at Victory Baptist Church, with the Revs. Mark Chase and Norm Sanders officiating. Interment will follow at Fuller Family Cemetery on Riceville Rd. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Groce Funeral Home on Patton Ave. is assisting the family.

  7. I want to express my sympathies to the Lambert family. I’m so sorry for your loss. I hope that you find comfort in knowing that one day you’ll have the hope of seeing your loved ones again. Acts 24:15 says that ‘there is going to be a resurrection.’ What this can mean for you is a real hope of being reunited with your dear loved ones. During difficult times like this, we need comfort, and Almighty God is the source of that comfort. (2 Corinthians 1:3,4) May you find strength in knowing that death is not the end, but that there is a beautiful hope of seeing our loved ones again at a time when ‘death will be no more.’ (Revelation 21:4)

  9. So sorry about the loss of Ronnie. I worked with him years ago when we were both young and always enjoyed his company. Also knew his sister Carole. May God comfort you in this difficult time.
