Asheville, NC
Resided in:
Asheville, NC
Krista went to her heavenly home to be with God on December 18, 2021 in Asheville, NC, at Mission Hospital where she was pursuing medical treatment related to a courageous battle with cancer. She passed away with her beloved family by her side.
Krista was born at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Asheville NC, on February 8, 1962, to Phillip and Sandra Crouch. She graduated from AC Reynolds High School (1980) and Appalachian State University (1985) where she earned a Bachelors’ Degree in Accounting. Krista was a member of Phi Mu Fraternity and worked as an accountant for Chetola Resort in Blowing Rock, NC. She also worked for her father at Ideal Drug Store doing accounting work before marrying and moving to Virginia where she primarily lived in the Danville area, working as an accountant for Carpetland for fourteen years. She was involved in many social activities and shared life with many friends while living in Virginia. Krista especially enjoyed gardening; planting, growing, and arranging flowers, and being a member of the Wayside Garden Club serving as treasurer and board member. Also enjoying the lifelong hobby of collecting and refurbishing furniture from salvaged items and doing art projects to which she enjoyed all her life.
Krista returned home to Asheville in 2013 to be near family and friends. She was hired by John Cram to be Accounting Manager of his businesses including New Morning Gallery, Bellagio, Blue Spiral Art Studio, and Fine Arts Movie Theater. Krista was outstanding in her work because of her diligence and her dedication to make everything better. Additionally, she used her artistic talents selling items, and serving as volunteer at the Biltmore Village Art & Craft Fair. She enjoyed participating in creative outlets like the Black Mountain Art in Bloom exhibit.
Krista’s love for life and others was over the top special and this is what stands out about her life. She loved others fully and passionately wherever she was and whenever it could be done. Always finding magical ways of bringing people together, addressing what could be better, and navigating best outcomes. Krista in her brave and courageous spirit sought goodness through a generous life of giving to everyone she met. Krista was close to all her family, a very special aunt to many nieces and nephews. She created fun adventures with each one and giving the perfect gift every time. She was the “Best Friend”, Best Girl Friend—to so many and loved by so many! She made us all better, she showed us what love is about and how to love well. She made us try things, do things that we are would be reluctant to try, she made us laugh, cry, and live fully into love.
Krista was a great lover of travel, organizing many trips with family and friends. She always loved to seek out and go on big adventures. Zip-lining as recent as a month ago, nature hiking, and obtaining her motorcycle license. She loved creating a beautiful table setting with unique China, seeking out rare finds from antique stores, decorating for every holiday, and making beautifully wrapped presents. Krista was a lifelong member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church and actively served as the church’s Finance Chair. She also helped organize the Children’s Sanctuary area and contributed to the BEAR Closet church program.
Krista is survived by her beloved family which includes her parents, Phillip and Sandra Crouch, her sister, Karen Doucette and her husband, Mike Doucette (Fallston, NC), her brothers, Phillip Crouch Jr. and sister-in-law, Vanessa Crouch (Asheville, NC) and Michael Crouch and sister-in-law Candace Crouch (Birmingham, AL) and close family friend, Roland Metivier. I am so thankful I told Krista last week how much I loved her and how thankful I was to call her friend. She ask me to pray that she would be home for Christmas. I did just that, but Jesus had a different home in mind. She is now with her Lord and Savior never to suffer again, I thank my Lord for allowing her to be in my life. Prayers are with the family.
We are sorry for your loss. Our thoughts and prayers are with her family at this time.

Prayers for the parents and siblings and their families as they face the future without such a kind and loving person that I knew as a student at AC Reynolds. She always had a smile on her face. She evidently didn’t change and had a great influence on people all her life. May God bring peace and comfort to all at this time of year when we celebrate the birth of our Savior.
Love in Christ,

Your sweet face will be missed
Phil and Sandra, So sorry to learn you lost your beautiful daughter. I know she leaves a big hole. May the Lord be with you as you come to terms with her loss.
To the entire Crouch family,
My heart is so sad and empty right now. You’ll know how much I loved sweet Krista. We had so many fun times together. She loved all of you so much. Her family meant the world to her. She touched so many lives with her positive energy and ability to reason things out. She has picked me up “out of the dumps” more times than I can count. I am going to miss her more than you will ever know. She asked me to pray, pray, pray that she would make it home for Christmas. I certainly did that and now she is in her eternal home for Christmas. May God wrap his loving arms around each of you in the days ahead. I love each and every one of you.

Crouch family, my heart aches for you. Even though I only had the opportunity to meet her several times, and especially several months ago at Lake Lure, the Seeleys will be praying for healing, but know she battled diligently and fought the good fight, but now is in the arms of our savior, Jesus Christ!! Sandra and Philip, you have always been so thoughtful of others, but now know you are in our thoughts and prayers. Amen
Sorry for your loss.
Will call you when I get back in January. I’m in Texas with Curt’s family.
Phillip and Sandra, Karen and Mike,
The loss of Krista touches our hearts. We feel your loss keenly and pray that our Father will comfort and sustain you. The loss of a child, or a sibling is so very hard. We join you in that grief and stand with you in the love and light of God. If we can do anything to make the next days and months easier, please let us know.
Phillip and Sandra,
We are so sorry to hear this. We have so many memories of your family. Our prayers are with you all. May God keep you in His care.
Larry and Rachel Owenby
We mourn with you the loss of Krista from this world and somehow at the same time rejoice with you in the celebration of Krista’s welcoming to her new eternal home with a new incorruptible body where she is united with Christ and all the saints who’ve gone ahead of her. These are not fairy tales we believe to somehow comfort us when someone passes, but rather evidence-based objective truth that our hope rests in. Praying that God would give you grace and comfort as you walk through grief, and, in time, hope for a future reunion. God bless.
My heart is with you, as are my thoughts and prayers as I hold your family in a place of love and light. I celebrate the life of Krista and the love shared with you and her many friends. That love continues and is none diminished, but lives on in each of your hearts. My heartfelt condolences.
My precious little Krista for whom I babysat many years ago. What a perfect baby she was. After I moved away my sister took over. Th crouches we’re so much a part of the Johnson family. God has a special angel who was loved by everyone. Love and peace to those left behind.
My heart goes out to the Crouch family. I knew Krista as a small child, tiny beautiful little girl. Such a special family. God bless you all. RIP Krista
Remembering Krista’s beautiful smile and creative spirit. Prayers and hugs to the entire Crouch family…She bloomed beautifully in life and is blossoming now in heaven.
