Kenneth Earl West

Kenneth Earl West, 59, of Meadow Lake Road, Asheville, died unexpectedly on Friday, March 4, 2005 at a local hospital. A native of Spartanburg County, SC. Mr. West was the son of the late Thomas Melton West and was also the son of Norma Davis Tolbert of Spartanburg. He was owner and operator of Western Carolina Products in Inman, SC and was a US Army Veteran serving during the Korean Conflict. He attended Biltmore United Methodist Church. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Melanie Windham West of Asheville; two daughters, Debbie McCray and Sheila Edwards and a son, Tom West all of Inman, SC; two grandchildren, Brandon McCray and Caleb West; a sister, Dianne West of Arden. A memorial service will be held 2:00 P.M. Monday in the chapel of Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian on Long Shoals Road with the Rev. James Lee officiating. The family will receive friends Sunday from 4:00 – 6:00 P.M. at the home. Memorials may be made to the Asheville Art Museum PO Box 1717, Asheville, NC 28802.
