Arden – Keith Nisbet Gray, 69, of Arden, died Sunday, October 15, 2023 at Mission Hospital.

A native of Atlanta, GA, Keith was the son of the late Earl and Carmen Dusthimer Gray. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Peggy Davis.

In his youth, Keith loved camping & fishing with his family, which led him to being an avid fisherman in his adult life. Four weeks prior to his passing, he was able to get out on the lake to do what he loved. Keith enjoyed being on the water with his sons and won several bass tournaments. When he wasn’t on the water, Keith loved spending time with Susan, his children and his grandchildren. He was known to be the “animal whisperer” with his many cats and other animals. Keith will forever be missed and loved by his family.

Keith is survived by his love, Susan Elizabeth Jayne; one daughter, Kristina Gray of Anderson, SC; two sons, Shawn Gray (Shawn Marie) of Greenville, SC and Kevin Gray of Melbourne, FL; one sister, Nancy Miller (Ken) of Boomer, NC; three grandchildren, Alexis Thompson (Thomas), Dylan Gray and Cameron Santos-Gray as well as several nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Keith’s Life will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, November 3, 2023 at Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian.

In lieu of flowers, the family graciously asks that you consider making a contribution in Keith’s memory to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.

  1. It has been a week since you have been healed but it is still hard on all of us here. The only comfort is knowing you are no longer in pain. Your family loves & misses you more than you know.

  2. Thanks for always being a great husband to Susan. She always spoke highly of you and children. I’m sadden I didn’t get the opportunity to meet you! Rest knowing she will be close to my heart and I’ll never let to much time go by without checking on her❤️ Love the Blades Family
