Kathryn Eileen Bailey Tilson, 72, of Asheville, NC passed away on March 2, 2026. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph W. Bailey and Frances Mosseller Bailey. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Thomas L. Tilson.

She is survived by her siblings; Patrick T. Bailey (Linda) and Brenda Hester (Michael).

Kathryn was a talented artist and put her skills to work by drafting and creating blueprints for several companies including Mountain Air in Burnsville, NC. Her hobbies included reading and drawing. She was a volunteer at Yancey County Animal Shelter.

Her infectious laugh will be missed by her family and friends.

I went through elementary, junior and senior high with Kathryn. She was always the smartest girl in the class, and also the most talented artist-even at Newton School. Funny, smart, talented and intelligent, she was also a beautiful girl and woman with a fabulous smile. Good bye, old friend.
