Juanita Cody Dula, 79, of Asheville, died on Monday, July 27, 2009, at Memorial Campus Mission Hospitals.
Mrs. Dula was a native of Chester, SC and was a daughter of the late Grover and Beulah Quinn Cody. She was preceded in death by her son, Thomas "Mike" Dula, who died in 2004; and by her brother, Donald Cody.
She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Tench "Tom" Dula; sons, Ron Dula and wife Beverly, and Jerry Dula and wife Teresa, all of Asheville; sister, Doris Manick, of Old Fort; brother-in-law, Jesse L. Dula and wife Betty, of Panama City, FL; grandchildren, Thomas Michael Dula, Jr., and wife Amanda, Russell Dula, and Scott Dula, all of Asheville; great-grandson, Tyler Dula; and a number of nieces and nephews.
A funeral service for Mrs. Dula will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday at the Groce Funeral Home chapel on Patton Ave. with the Rev. Keith Hutchinson officiating. Interment will follow at Green Hills Cemetery.
Her family will receive friends from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Dear Tom and family, I am so sorry to hear of Juanita’s passing. I have very fond memories of her when she and I were in the ‘Slender Benders’ Club. I cannot believe that the years have passed so quickly. We have been friends and neighbors for many years and I feel privileged to have known Juanita and her family. Please know that you are in our thoughts as you go through this trying time.

Uncle Tench,Jerry,Ronnie and family, I can’t believe that our time with Aunt Juanita has come and gone. She was an amazing woman and I will forever miss her, but I will also carry her love in my heart. She always said that I should have been her daughter and I feel like in a way a piece of me is gone with her. She is with my Dad and Mike now and I bet they are having a time together.
