Most family called John “Big John”, he was a veteran of the Marines and Army National Guard serving our country on many occasions. Most will remember John as an avid golfer, Tarheel fan and quiet man that loved his family. He loved watching the kids play in any sports event they participated in and never missed a game.

The family will have a small celebration of his life in early spring to place John’s ashes in their final resting place.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to your favorite charity in John’s honor.

Guestbook

  1. He was such a good Dad and person! He will be missed and I will forever remember him as my biggest fan in the stands. My kids will miss their Paw…he was the best.

  2. I will miss Big John. He was a great person. I cut his hair the last few years, he would always say just a little off the top i letting it grow. I would take him to the market with me sometimes if he felt like it.

  3. Rip Big John. Your big wave and friendly hello from the front porch will be missed. Thank you for your service to our country.

  4. I golfed with the Bryant brothers. John a few times, but mainly with Ted and Robert. We always had a good time together.

  5. SO SAD TO HEAR OF JOHNNYS PASSING. ONE MORE COUSIN IN HEAVEN. MAY GOD GIVE THE WHOLE FAMILY COMFORT UNTIL LOVED ONES ARE REUNITED.

  6. Uncle Johnny, you were so kind and nonjudgmental just like Granny.. You always made people smile and laugh. You were trying so hard to make it to your 80th birthday and fell short by three days. But you made it in my eyes. Rest in peace. You’ll be greatly missed but I know you’re in heaven having your morning coffee with Granny again. ❤️
